This Privacy Policy explains how This Good Ground ("Parcel Scout," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Parcel Scout (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — the email address you provide to create an account and receive results.
- Search information — the search briefs and details you enter (such as budget, target counties, and what you want the land to do).
- Payment information — when you buy credits, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We receive limited transaction data (such as confirmation and the last four digits of a card); we do not store full card numbers.
- Usage and device information — log data, IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and interactions, collected automatically to operate and secure the Service.
- Cookies and similar technologies — used for authentication, preferences, and analytics. See Section 6.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service — run your searches, generate results, and deliver them to your email;
- To process payments and manage your credits;
- To communicate with you about your account, results, and support requests;
- To maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
- To send marketing emails where permitted (you can opt out at any time — see Section 8); and
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms.
3. How your search briefs are processed
To generate results, your search briefs are processed by automated systems and by third-party artificial-intelligence and web-search providers acting on our behalf. We instruct these providers to process this information to return your results and, subject to their terms, not to use it to train their models where such controls are available.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- with service providers that operate the Service on our behalf — payment processing (Stripe), hosting, email delivery, analytics, and AI/web-search providers — under contracts that limit their use of the information;
- to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights, users, or the public; and
- in connection with a business transfer such as a merger, financing, or sale of assets.
5. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as required for legal, accounting, or security purposes. You may request deletion as described in Section 7.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in, preferences, and analytics about how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some may affect functionality.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. To make a request, email privacy@parcelscout.com. We will verify your request as required by law.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the rights described above, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.
EU/UK/EEA residents (GDPR/UK GDPR): where applicable, our legal bases for processing are performance of a contract, your consent, and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service. You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
8. Marketing emails
If we send promotional emails, every one includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We will still send transactional messages about your account, purchases, and results.
9. Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 (or under 13 in any event). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Third-party links and sites
The Service links to third-party listing sites, county portals, and other resources that have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices; review their policies before providing information.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. International transfers
We operate in the United States, and your information may be processed there. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to processing in the U.S. and other countries where we or our providers operate.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, where required, provide additional notice. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
